Car Reviews 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse

When looking at affordable sport cars, the 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse ranks at number seven out of ten affordable sport cars! The styling of the 2008 Mitsubishi eclipse is rather sleek but it can’t match others in its category for performance. Serious competitors are the classic Ford Mustang or the Mazda RX-8. I would start the review of the 2008 Mitsubishi eclipse with a look at the pros and cons of the vehicle. I would start off with the good news to begin with which would be the pros. One of the major pros of the 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse is its sleek exterior design. This makes it particularly attractive to the «younger» crowd! In addition it has an excellent sounding factory stereo built by Rockford Fosgate (this brand it very well known in the audio category for performance amplifiers). The cabin backlighting is ice blue in color giving another feature to «catch» the eyes of a young sport car lover. One of the major cons of the 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse is the existence of mixed options on the braking system and ride quality provided by the car. In addition, there is a bit of torque steer with the GT trim which again takes away from the performance of the vehicle. Also, just like most sport cars, there are some rear visibility issues. Most auto reviewers were of the opinion that buyers of the 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse will get the look and feel of a sports car but will have to forgo power and agility. As mentioned before, the car appeals highly to the «younger» generation. Quoted from Detroit News, a young reviewer mentioned: «Until I start making big money at a big job, I’m not going to be able to afford the high-end cars I like. So instead, I will settle for cars that remind me of them.» Some reviewers mentioned that the car has the feeling of homework finished in the dead of night. This quality of uncrossed t’s and undotted i’s (quite well-known) shows up in both little ways and big ways. For instance the «puckers» in the leather-seat upholstery is a good example of a little way. The jinxed ride, handling and glitches in the engine program is a good example of a big way. On the other hand, the 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse is a «buy it if you like it» type of car. Different people have different preferences since some folks think that they need more room. Others will prefer a harder-edged performer. In fact, if you like the style and want a car that’s fast & fun without some serious expense, then I would suggest you go with the 2008 Eclipse.Despite what reviewers say, none of them deny that the price of this sport car is a bargain for the exterior looks you’re getting in return. For example AutoWeek referred to it as: «a legitimate player for those seeking decent performance at an attractive price.» So, before dumping $35,000 or more on a fancy coupe, try a 2008 Eclipse. Base prices range from $19,999 to $29,599, allowing you to have a lot more fun for a lot less money. In addition, the car is claimed to be very reliable with Mitsubishi offering impressive warranty coverage on it. The 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse is part of Mitsubishi’s «Project America» platform, which features other front wheel drive vehicles like the Endeavor and the Galant. The Eclipse comes out of the factory in two trims: the base model GS and the GT, but it is also available as a convertible, which is the Eclipse Spyder.Despite the cons of the 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse, I think it is an overall good vehicle. This would be applicable if you are in the market for a new sport car at a reasonable price. Test-drive one of the base models and then determine if the reviews about the vehicle are true before purchasing. Have fun!
